Robin Shackleford is a public affairs professional who currently serves as the Campaign Manager for State Representative Cherrish Pryor. In this role, she oversees all day-to-day campaign operations. She successfully led Pryor to a victory over her opponent in the November 2008 general election.
Prior to joining the campaign, Robin was the former Diversity Affairs Director in the Office of Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson. In this position, she was responsible for raising and maintaining awareness of the importance of diversity and for promoting the range of actions that could help the city achieve greater diversity. She also acted as the liaison between the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee and the Mayor’s office with various community groups.
In addition to serving as chair of the Mayor's Celebration of Diversity Awards, Robin was responsible for coordinating city agency involvement in various events and activities, including Circle City Classic, Indiana Black Expo, and the Butler Diversity Lecture Series.
Prior to joining the Mayor's Office, Robin worked as the Policy and Research Specialist for the Indiana Health Care Association, where she served as a lobbyist, developed public policy, and conducted heath care research. Robin's extensive background in government service has included positions with the Indiana Department of Commerce, Indiana House of Representatives, and Clerk of the Supreme Court.
Robin continues to show her commitment towards her community and education as a Board member of Indy Reads. An Indianapolis native, Robin is an Indiana University and IUPUI graduate, having earned both her Bachelors and Master Degrees in Public Affairs.
Jimmie L. McMillian is an associate in Barnes & Thornburg LLP’s Indianapolis office. He is a member of the Litigation Department.
Jimmie is a member of the Indiana Bar Association, Indianapolis Bar Association, Marion County Bar Association and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He is the MCBA’s Past President and currently serves on their Board. He also serves as a member of the Board for Reach for Youth, Inc., and participates in their Teen Court Program. In 2006, he
was recognized by the Indiana Lawyer as one of ten “Up and Coming Lawyers” in Indiana and was awarded the “Leadership in Law Award”. Jimmie received the 2008 Minority Volunteer Award from the United Way of Central Indiana and the Charlie Nelms Alumni Award from Indiana University. He was also recognized by the Indianapolis Business Journal as one of 2008’s “Forty under 40,” an award attributed to the top 40 Indianapolis Professionals under age 40.
Jimmie received a B.A. degree in 1998 from Indiana University-Bloomington. He received his J.D. degree in 2002 from the Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis.
Sandra Sandifer is currently the Assistant Vice President of Community Development at Fifth Third Bank in Central Indiana. Her responsibilities include CRA compliance in the area of service and lending, financial literacy and community outreach to programs and organizations that
serve low - moderate-income people. Her most recent efforts include coordinating Fifth Third Bank's financial literacy efforts throughout Central Indiana, including foreclosure prevention workout sessions, and traveling with Fifth Third Bank's Homeownership Mobile during the month of June.
Prior to coming to the bank, Sandra's work has been at various not-for-profits, focusing on housing for low - moderate-income people. She has worked along the housing continuum from homelessness to homeownership. Sandra's undergraduate degree is in Criminal Justice and she has a Masters degree in Social Work. She is a licensed Social Worker with the State and has also been a licensed Realtor, as well. Sandra enjoys working with and providing services to those in need. Although she has switched over to working for a for-profit company, she is still able to make a difference to those in need through community development.
She lives in Indianapolis with her husband of 29 years and has a 27 year old son and daughter-in-law.
Louise grew up in Anderson, Indiana. In high school she was a National Honor Society recipient and at Indiana University in Bloomington, an Omicron Nu national honor society (Now Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society) recipient for majors in Home Economics. She holds a Master’s degree in Education from Indiana University, as well as the Doctorate of Medical Sciences Degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine.
Louise is a recognized dietetic professional in both Illinois and Indiana.
Her career includes working at Highland Park Hospital and Lake Forest Hospital in her early career years in Illinois, and then working for the Visiting Nurses’ Association, serving as the Chief Clinical Dietitian at Marion County General Hospital, Assistant Chief of the Dietetics Department at Methodist Hospital, and as the Director of the Clinical Therapeutic Diet Clinic at Regenstrief Health Center for 22 years until retirement in Indiana.
After retirement, Louise accepted a position as Asst. Professor in the Dept. of Physical Education at IUPUI and taught for seven years. To improve her teaching and counseling skills she took post-graduate courses in Marriage and Family therapy at Butler University and she is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
Over the years she has played a significant role as a community volunteer and has served on many boards and been a part of numerous organizations: Flanner House Guild, National Council of Negro Women, the American Diabetes Association, the Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, the Children’s Bureau, the Community Centers of Indianapolis, the Urban League, life member of the NAACP, Chairman of the Recorder Women’s Auxiliary for 15 years; the United Way, AARP, and Indiana Black Expo. She is a life member of the IU Alumni Association and presently serves as the President of the Alumni Association of the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. She has been an active member of the Alpha Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority for over 15 years. She is also a very active member of Robinson Community AME Church and serves as a member of the Steward Board, Chairman of the Benevolent Fund, Commission on Christian Education, teacher of the Women’s Sunday School Class, Marriage and Family Counselor and wedding coordinator.
During her many years of public service she has received many awards and public recognition for her work and her service.
Louise is married to Otis. They are the happy and proud parents of Greg and Vicki and the grandparents of Daniel and Malcolm.
