NOTE: In the "Search for your school:" box, you will need to type in "IUPUI"

Cap and gown ordering information has been sent to all prospective graduates who filed an 'intent-to-graduate' degree-candidate form with their respective schools by early February. If you are not sure you have completed such a form, please contact your school's Recorder.

Only rental apparel is used for the IUPUI Commencement ceremonies. Apparel must be ordered from Herff Jones. Credit card payment is required for online orders. A cap and tassel, both of which you may keep, is included in the pricing. March 25 is the deadline to order without penalty. From March 26 to April 5, the price will increase by $10. After April 5, apparel can be rented during cap and gown distribution at the Campus Center, May 7-8. There will be an additional increase of $10 at that time. View tassel color chart.

Used apparel is to be deposited in boxes provided at the exits of the Indiana Convention Center on May 11 and 12.

Pickup Schedule/Shipping

Caps and gowns will be distributed in Room 405 at the Campus Center on Tuesday, May 7, and Wednesday, May 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

If you are unable to pick up your own apparel, you may have someone pick it up for you. Or, you may pay shipping charges with your cap and gown order to have it sent directly to you or to a relative, friend, etc. Only orders placed by March 25 can be shipped. Please note that deliveries cannot be made to a post office box number--only to a street address. Apparel orders will be shipped on or about Monday, April 22.

Refund Policy

Refunds for caps and gowns are available through Herff Jones until the ordering web site closes (March 25 and April 5). After that, refunds may be requested through the IUPUI Office of Alumni Relations. Full refunds for the cost of a cap, gown, and hood will be given only through Friday, May 3. Please note that sales tax and shipping fees paid to Herff Jones are not refundable.

To request a refund, please send a written request via e-mail to commence@iupui.edu, and include the order number from your Herff Jones confirmation. A refund check will be sent to the address on your order form unless otherwise specified. Allow two to three weeks for processing.
