Alumni updates

Roy H. Thomas, M.D., Res ’84, was recently elected president of the Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA) for 2009-2010. Thomas is the third member of his family to serve as OSMA president. His brother, John W. Thomas, MD, of Wooster, was president of the OSMA (2002-03). Their father, Robert G. Thomas, MD, held the same position nearly thirty years ago (1980-81). Board certified in ophthalmology, he has been a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology since 1987. Thomas is also a member of the American Medical Association, OSMA, Lorain County Medical Society, Ohio Ophthalmological Society and Cleveland Ophthalmological Society. Thomas received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He completed an internship in internal medicine, followed by a residency in ophthalmology at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. Following his residency, Thomas completed a fellowship in cornea and anterior segment surgery at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

Jeffrey Kreher, M.D., Residency ’03, recently joined the staff at Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA, as a hospitalist. Dr. Kreher earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri – Columbia School of Medicine and completed his residency in Internal Medicine/Pediatrics at IU in 2003, where he also served as chief resident. After a few years of clinical practice, he completed a fellowship in primary care sports medicine at Boston Medical Center. Dr. Kreher is Board-certified in internal medicine, pediatrics, and primary care sports medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. His primary area of interest is preventative health care through healthy active living.
