IU med Alumni Reunion Weekend

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is attire for the Medical Reunion Weekend?

We recommend what could be titled “business casual attire” for both male and females. Our basic definition of business casual attire for men is wearing a collared shirt or a sweater, slacks or khakis (no jeans), and some kind of shoes other than sneakers or sandals. For women we recommend slacks, khakis (no jeans), or a skirt paired with a collared shirt, sweater, sweater sets, and/or blazer (jacket). Please note the above is only a recommendation, and our best advice is that you dress the way you feel most comfortable in a celebration setting.

2. Am I allowed to bring a guest to the Medical Reunion Weekend?

Yes. All alumni and their guests are welcome to attend any of the events listed as part of the Medical Reunion Weekend.

3. When attending Reunion Weekend, where should I park?

We suggest that all alumni Reunion Weekend attendees park at University Place Hotel. The daily rate is $14.00. Attendees may also park in the North Street Garage just East of the Hotel and Conference Center for a daily rate of $6.00. There is a tunnel connecting the North Street Garage to the Conference Center and Hotel for your convenience.

4. How can I find out who is attending from my class or other classes?

Go to http://alumni.iupui.edu/medicine/reunions/med08/ which is the location of the Medical Reunion Weekend website. At this site there is a link on the main page titled “Who is Attending the Reunion”. One can click and search for either a single name or see all who are attending from your class.

5. Where can I stay overnight?

There are rooms reserved at the University Place Conference Center and Hotel, located on the campus of IUPUI. If you would like to reserve a room, please contact (317) 269-9000 or 1-800-627-2700 or go to http://www.universityplace.iupui.edu for more details. When creating your online reservation for University Place, type "0605Medica" in the group code section to receive your reduced rate. If you are making reservations by phone, identify yourself as a med Alumni Reunion Weekend participant for the reduced rate.

6. What can be done if I am a vegetarian or have food allergies?

For any special dietary needs, please call Michael Halliburton at 317-274-5060 or 866-267-3104 to explain your situation. Much of the food is ordered and prepared ahead of the event, so the earlier a request is made, the easier it is to fulfill.

7. When will the class photos be taken, and when will I receive my copy?

Class photos will be taken at the class events. The photos will be developed and mailed out to your preferred address 4-6 weeks after the event. If your class is not having an event, arrangements will be made to take a reunion picture.
