Recognition Dinner

The IUPUI Alumni Council and the Student Organization for Alumni Relations will recognize the school's top 100 juniors and seniors during the 11th Annual IUPUI Top 100 Outstanding Students Recognition Dinner.

Richard ReedHon. Richard A. Reed
Special Assistant to the President For Homeland Security
and Senior Director for Resilience Policy

The Honorable Richard A. Reed serves as the Special Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Senior Director for Resilience Policy. In this position, he oversees the Resilience Directorate of the National Security Staff at the White House. The Directorate has lead responsibility for a broad range of policy issues to support national resilience, and coordinates across the Executive Branch, the Executive Office of the President, and other offices of the National Security Staff.

Richard received his bachelor's degree in psychology from Purdue University and both his bachelor's and master's degrees in Social Work from Indiana University. Prior to his appointment at the White House, Richard served as the first Chief Emergency Response and Recovery Officer at the General Services Administration. His commitment to public service also includes multiple posts at both FEMA and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Dress is semi-formal (typically a suit for men and a suit, dress or gown for women). Make your reservation by no later than April 2, 2010. Faculty and staff can reserve seats online. Students will be recognized for scholastic achievement, extracurricular activities on campus, and civic and community service. During the dinner, the most outstanding female student and the most outstanding male student will be announced, as well as the top 10 female and top 10 male students. A panel of alumni, faculty and staff will select the top students based on nominations by faculty and staff.

Once again schools and departments have an opportunity to become an official "Table Sponsor" at the IUPUI Top 100 dinner. You can fill your table with faculty and staff or give seats back to us to use for your school's Top 100 students and their families.

Table sponsors will receive:

  • 10 seats at the dinner on April 9, 2010
  • An invitation to attend a special "Pre-function" reception with our keynote speaker.
  • Table signs with school or department name

The cost of a table sponsorship is $500 and individual seats are $35.
